Football / defending champion Manchester City won 5–0; Sterling's hat-trick, also completed 50 goals

London. Two-time defending champion Manchester City have started with a win in the English Premier League (EPL). English football club Manchester City beat West Ham United 5–0. This is City's seventh consecutive win over West Ham. In these 7 matches, City scored 23 goals and scored just 3 goals. City won the opening match for the ninth time in a row. Rahim Sterling scored a hat-trick in the match. He is the eighth player to score a hat-trick in the opening weekend of the season and the first player after 8 years.

Earlier, Didier Drogba did this in 2010–11. For the 13th time in 2019, no team could score a single goal against Manchester City. City's Gabriel Hayes scored 25th, Sterling scored 51st, 75th, 90 + 1st and Sergio Aguero scored in the 86th minute on penalties. Sterling's City side have completed 50 goals in the league. He is the sixth player to score 50+ goals. Aguero scored for the seventh time on the first day of the season. 

Liverpool won, out of goalkeeper Alison Injury as 
Champions League champions Liverpool beat Norwich City 4–1 in the first match. Liverpool's goalkeeper Alison Baker was in the match. They will no longer play a Super Cup match against Chelsea in Istanbul. For Liverpool, Salah scored 19th, Virgil Van Dyk scored 28th, Divok Origi scored in the 42nd minute. Grent Henley of Norwich scored on his own in the 7th minute. The only goal from Norwich was scored by Timu Pukki in the 64th minute. Liverpool have not lost on home ground since day 838. He has won 31 matches and played 10 draws.
